Sunday Outing

I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. I did. Yesterday I did some window shopping but only a little because I am still supposed to be taking it easy with my foot. (My foot is doing much better but not completely back to normal.) The rest of the day I did a little cleaning but mostly I relaxed.
Today I went out to breakfast with my Mom and my sister and her whole family.
After Breakfast My Mom and I Went to The Philadelphia Art Museum. You may know the building from "The Rocky stairs" but I assure you there are great works of art in the building. We went to the "Late Renoir exhibit. I learned that he had horrible arthritis in his late years but would paint regardless of the pain. He said something along the lines of "the pain is temporary. The beauty lasts". Of course since I spent the afternoon with Renoir I now think we are kindred spirits. Love him! Ooh Bonus. I came out not feeling fat because all of his nudes look like me! Thick women!

After we left Renoir we went to visit some other french impressionist and some modern art too.

I have some pictures which I think are okay to post but If I am wrong please let me know and I will take them down. I hope these pictures inspire you to go visit an art museum where you live And then blog about it.

I love this! look at the emotion on the face.
Artist : Adriano Cecioni

I took a picture of my Mom and one of her all time favorite paintings. she has had a print of this in the house for as long as I can remember. it's The Moorish Chief by artist Eduard Charlemont

I think this was the feast of Saint John.
artist Jules Adolphe Aimé Louis

They are dancing at the moulin rouge. I decided to join in by pointing my foot like the gentleman in the painting.
Artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec

I loved this painting in the modern art section. The painting is of a sale at the Bendel's department store.
Artist Florine Stettheimer

I love the colors and angles in this painting.
I cant remember the artist to this one. Sorry.
I remember seeing this as a little girl and falling in love with it. I can still remember the feelings I had seeing it as a girl.
artist Degas

I had such a good day.I cant wait to go back again.

Blame it on the boogie!

I've been listening to MJ's fabulous music all day! Have you too?
After a while I realized I was cracking up because all of these songs are connected to some great memory's. Most of these memories are funny, at least to me. I hope they are not like an inside joke and you get a laugh out of theme too.
If you have a great memory connected to a MJ song please comment.

First there are the misunderstood lyrics. I think this was a wide spread one. In the song "Wanna be startin somthin" rumor had it that during the "Mamma say, mamma saw, mamaco saw" part Michael was really saying "gonna say it from the side of the mountain top".

Then I think one of my cousins told me that they had a friend who thought that the lyrics in "human nature" were "Rice rice something something shoeshine maker" instead of "why why tell them that it's human nature".

I heard some radio personality thought that "Annie are you OK" was "Annie are you walking".

Also the movie "Crooklyn" has a part where they play "never can say goodbye" where a girl is sort of jogging next to the car with her shoulders hunched over as she waves goodbye to her cousin. I have a most hilarious aunt who does an imitation of this scene. Now whenever I hear this melancholy song I crack up.
I could go on and on but really what i'm saying is...

You are missed Michael!

A Twister!

Today a tornado whipped through the area where I work. It rained profusely. the power flickered and went out in part of the building but not the whole thing. Weird. Then the calls started coming in. Frantic parents wanting to know if we are alright or letting me know that they have know Idea when they will make it there to pick up there kids. I was informed that traffic lights were out everywhere and that trees are down and blocking lots of streets. Later I was informed that the main road I take to get home was shut down. Funny thing is this is not even the most excitement we have had all week. earlier in the week we had another adventure. I can't share this one with you but it was interesting.Anyway My adventure did not end there. As I was leaving my brother in law called me to say there were trees blocking there driveway and the power was out. He asked if I could please pick something for my niece and nephew to eat. Of course I said yes, but with all the traffic lights not working and trees blocking streets I got LOST. My brother in law was able to get his drive cleared and leave to get the kids something to eat before I got unlost.
All I can say is I am glad the week is almost over because I cant take much more excitement.

Now that I have given my spiel look how beautiful the sky was after the rain.

There were also rainbows everywhere.

Here is a picture of My Niece and Nephews street.

I will let you know If I have anymore adventures tomorrow.

Superheros!

My First day of teaching summer camp starts tomorrow. I'm looking forward to all the trips we go on, having a less structured schedule, and having those extra hours now that my kids won't be taking naps to do art projects.

My right foot.

About two weeks ago I hurt my right foot. I don't have any idea how I hurt it. Just one day By the time I got home from work I could not walk. I have been limping and in pain ever since. A smarter person Would have probably gone to a doctor before two weeks or at least taken it easy. Well i didn't. Actually with running around doing last minute things for my classes graduation I was more active than usual. To make a long story short today i did finally go to the doctor and go get X-rays. Now all I have to do is wait about three days to see if it is a sprain or a hairline fracture. Oh and take it easy. I may be off to a bad start. I went to the mall after the x-rays.

My poor fat foot.

Sunnys. I got a pair of zebra striped ones. Gotta support the addiction.

Random Fact: According to my Mom the hydrangeas change from blue to pink because of the alkaline in the soil.

the sail boats were out today.
I feel so blessed living so close to the river.

Those were my adventures so far and it's only one thirty. I foresee my next adventure involving clothes washing.

The General Lee

Who knew that the Dukes of Hazzard moved to New Jersey?
I saw the General Lee driving down the street today with a license plate that said Yeehaw. My brother was a huge Dukes Fan growing up. All I ever remember is the General Lee Flying through the air. Did anything else happen on that show? Anyway It made me laugh and think of my brother.

Finished.

My students graduated today. They are ready for kindergarten! They did a fabulous job and entertained us as only Five year olds can. My two favorite parts of there graduation program were when one of my girls had to go potty and started to do the squirmy dance(we got her to the potty in time), and one of my girls couldn't find where she was supposed to go after reviving her diploma. She announced her predicament loudly and then when she did find her place she told the other kid to move also loudly. Now it's on to the next adventure. Summer camp starts on Monday.
